Kane Brown and Lauren Alaina have been lifelong friends since their days singing in the choir back in middle school. And while the two hitmakers also have significant others in their lives, the twosome certainly turned up the heat during their ACM Awards performance of their fiery duet “What Ifs" on Sunday (April 15).

With Brown sporting a pair of ripped up jeans and a white T-shirt and Alaina a vision in a gold, low-cut dress, they lit up the ACM Awards stage belting out their hit, which is nominated in the Vocal Collaboration category this year. The song was originally produced by 9-time ACM Award-winning producer/musician Dann Huff and co-written by Brown, Matthew McGinn and Jordan Schmidt.

The ACM Awards performance resembled the "What Ifs" music video just a bit, with a stunning landscape as the backdrop for their incredible vocals. The performance ended with the two getting quite close, staring into each other’s eyes before ending up in a big bear hug. Does it get more adorable or what? The world of social media certainly seemed to think so, as Twitter lit up following their irresistible performance!

Of course, it’s already been a busy week for the two, who served as social media correspondents for the awards show, attending everything from the ACM Party for a Cause along with getting all of the backstage scoop for fans. Most of all, Brown and Alaina showed off the superstars they are turning out to be. And we have a feeling this just is just the beginning of their fairytale story.
