Keith Urban is getting closer to finishing his eighth studio album. The country singer revealed Tuesday (Oct. 27) in a press release that the name for his forthcoming release will be Ripcord.

Speculation on Urban's upcoming album began in June, when he released its first single, "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16." The song recently went to No. 1 for Urban and historically became the highest one-week spin count according to Country Aircheck/Mediabase.

Two weeks ago, the country star released a follow-up single, a ballad called "Break on Me" that brings to mind previous hits "You'll Think of Me" and "Stupid Boy" with his emotive singing style. Songwriters Ross Copperman and Jon Nite penned the song, which has Urban letting his love know that he is a sturdy rock that can be leaned on during difficult times.

Urban will perform next Wednesday (Nov. 4) at the 2015 CMA Awards with John Mellencamp live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. While he hasn't revealed what the two will be performing, with a song like "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16" — which name drops Mellencamp in the title and body — that could be a good contender.

No release date for Ripcord has been announced.
