Kid Rock Promising ‘Greatest Show on Earth’ With Upcoming Tour
Kid Rock is back with a vengeance. Not only is he supposedly running for Senate and definitely releasing new music, but he’s officially announced an upcoming tour: the Greatest Show on Earth Tour.
Borrowing a phrase usually used to describe the Ringling Brothers Circus (which recently shuttered), the rocker-turned-country artist revealed the news at the end of his new music video for his song by the same title, noting that the tour would be "coming to a city near you" in 2018.
“Are you scared?” he asks the camera directly after the announcement.

Claims have been floating around that Rock will be running for U.S. Senate, representing his home state of Michigan — something many have chalked up as a marketing ploy. The rumors started when a campaign website cropped up promoting him for the office. The singer would only confirm that the site is real, but has not outright said he’s entering the race.
The site doesn’t have a ton of information other than merchandise and the aforementioned tagline “Are you scared?”, so it’s still possible it’s all a rouse — especially considering his comment:
“Like politicians write books during their campaigns, I’m planning on putting out music during mine and IT ALL STARTS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT,” the singer wrote on Instagram on Thursday (July 13).“It’s not a hoax, it’s a strategy and marketing 101! No plans for an album or anything else that has been the usual norm in the music business OR politics.”
Either way, fans are excited to see more from him. Rock just signed a new record deal with BMG/Broken Bow Records — a deal that will allow him to release music on “his terms.” In addition to "Greatest Show on Earth," Rock dropped a new song called "Po-Dunk" late Thursday night, as promised. His last album, First Kiss, released in 2015 with Warner Brothers and was produced by country legend Dann Huff, though it reached No. 1 on the Billboard U.S. Top Rock Albums chart.
