Kip Moore, ‘Young Love’ – Lyrics Uncovered
Kip Moore's 'Young Love' lyrics are autobiographical, drawing on a real-life romantic rendezvous during the singer's teenage years in the Spring Break capitol of the world, Panama City Beach, Fla.
The 33-year-old sings about sneaking out late at night and having secret adventures with a girl -- his young love, no matter the cost.
Moore explains the 'Young Love' lyrics, telling ABC News Radio that although he grew up a Georgia native, he and his family would head to the beach every summer, and it was there that he met the song's inspiration.
"[I] went back home and ended up sneaking out in my car and driving all the way back four hours [to Panama City Beach] to go hang out with this girl for the weekend," he spills. "Told my folks I was going to a buddy's house."
Adds the singer, "When you're 16, there's such a reckless abandonment. You'll do whatever to hang out with that person. You don't think about the consequences. I feel like, as you get a little crusty when you get older, and you get jaded, you lose a little bit of that fire."
The 'Young Love' lyrics display a passion and excitement that is so prevalent in the whirlwind, hormone-filled teenage years -- and there's really no better name for this reminiscent song.
