Lady Antebellum Return to the Stage With ‘Heart Break’ at ACM Awards
Lady Antebellum gave their first major public performance since the arrival of Hillary Scott's twins at the 2018 ACM Awards on Sunday night (April 15), performing "Heart Break," the title song of their most recent album.
The performance began with a shot of Scott striding out of the dressing room to sing the opening lines of the song, which is the second single from the album of the same name. Dressed in a flowing black dress adorned with red flowers, she joined bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood onstage for an exuberant performance of the song, which leans into the award-winning trio's more progressive and pop-oriented side.
The group's trademark harmonies sounded spot-on as they came back together onstage for the high-profile gig. Kelley kept it casual in a flowered shirt, while Haywood opted for a yellow jacket to top off his stage ensemble.
Scott and her husband, drummer Chris Tyrrell, welcomed twins girls on Jan. 29. She's been documenting Betsy and Emory's lives via social media, while Haywood and his wife, Kelli, welcomed their second child, a daughter named Lillie Renee Haywood on Dec. 22, 2018.
Lady Antebellum will tour with Darius Rucker beginning in July, and they are set to headline a free Fourth of July concert in Nashville in 2018. They are also nominated for Vocal Group of the Year in the 2018 ACMs.
