Lainey Wilson’s Dad Makes Rare Appearance at Her Show

Lainey Wilson's dad, Brian Wilson, has gotten to see his daughter rise to the top of the country music ranks, and fast.

That almost wasn't the case.

In 2022, Wilson shared with Taste of Country Nights that her dad almost died due to a bad bout with diabetic ketoacidosis.

Then, in May, she had a happy update.

"He is great. Mama sent me a video of him the other day, riding a horse in the front yard," the "Wildflowers and Horses" star shared earlier this year. "He's back at it. I'm so thankful, it was a miracle."

"It has taken him about two years to get back up on his feet. He's back at it, though; you can't slow a cowboy down," she said.

This past Friday, Wilson performed at the famed Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming. On her Instagram, she shared a candid picture from backstage with her parents, who got to be there to enjoy the concert.

Both of Wilson's parents are sporting cowboy hats and seem eager to take in a day of country music while supporting their daughter. As for dad's eye patch? She explained that to us, too.

"He spent two months in a hospital from a fungal infection that completely took out the left side of his face," she shared.

For a man who isn't supposed to even be alive, getting to spend the weekend at Cheyenne Frontier Days watching his daughter — who is on top of her game — do her thing must have been something truly special for Wilson's dad.
