Luke Bryan Draws 400,000 to Final Spring Break Concerts
Luke Bryan threw the beach party of a lifetime to mark his final spring break concerts.
The 38-year-old country superstar performed the last of his annual two-day beach party events at Spinnaker Beach Club in Panama City, Fla. on Wednesday and Thursday (March 11-12) to record crowds that packed the beach east and west of the club's overflow and all the way to the edge of the Gulf, with local officials estimating a turnout of 200,000 for each day.
Bryan announced the release of his final spring break EP, Spring Break ... Checkin' Out, in February, and also revealed he would end his spring break run with the two special shows.
“My fans have been so wonderful to embrace these special Spring Break albums over the last seven years,” he says. “We’ve created a lot of amazing memories writing these songs and performing them at the beach shows in Florida. Those concerts are among the most enjoyable of my career!”
Spring Break … Checkin’ Out dropped on Tuesday (March 10), and is available physically and digitally. The 11-song release features five new tracks, as well as all six songs from last year’s spring break EP. Walmart is also offering an exclusive edition of all of Bryan’s spring break releases. Spring Break … The Set List: The Complete Spring Break Collection ZinePak includes a two-disc set with all 25 songs, plus a 48-page magazine with exclusive interviews and photos from each of the previous spring break releases, as well as the five new songs from this year.
Bryan just returned from playing the first European dates of his touring career. He will co-host the 2015 ACM Awards with Blake Shelton on April 19. His Kick the Dust Up tour is set to launch on May 8, and on May 22 the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will debut a new exhibit titled 'Luke Bryan: Dirt Road Diary.'
