Man Sues Buc-ee’s Over Large Inflatable Beaver Outside Store
Whether you live by a Buc-ee's or have ever passed the behemoth structure that seems to go on for a mile, you know it's an experience to shop there.
As soon as you pull up to the gas station megastore — where Keith Urban recently worked for a day — you can see that everything is giant, oversized and in your face.
That includes Buc-ee's inflatable beavers, which sit outside select stores.
But one man wasn't having it: While at the Buc-ee's in Florence County, S.C., Richard E. Brown was walking on the sidewalk when he "tripped over a rope that was running from the base of the Buc-ee’s inflatable Beaver mascot to the anchor point," per a lawsuit he has filed against the store, according to NewsNation.
The beaver was just chilling there, smiling, minding its own business, when Mr. Brown tripped over its support rope.
Brown is now suing Buc-ee’s for negligence and seeking unspecified financial damages.
Whatever the financial damages he is seeking end up being, it probably won't put much of a dent in the beaver's pocket, should they pay out: The store pulls in an estimated $2.5 million dollars per year in revenue, so any payout would be, well, beaver nuggets.
Only time will tell what impact this will have on the giant Buc-ee's beaver — this whole experience could cause him some emotional distress, as well.
