'Nashville' stars Connie Britton and Chip Esten took the 2013 CMA Awards stage to present the Female Vocalist of the Year award to the one and only Miranda Lambert.

Britton, who plays a country singer on her hit show, says she can relate to those women nominated for this award. "I've been there, you know," she joked.

Esten quickly corrected her: "Honey, that was just our show."

"I think that's just a matter of opinion," Britton said before getting serious. "The women of country music make me so proud."

Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves, Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood went to head-to-head for this year's Female Vocalist award, but Lambert took home the prize for a fourth time.

She said she didn't think she'd win this year, and sometimes has to pinch herself when she even realizes she's nominated. She also took time to address the other nominees.

"Taylor, I was crying. That was frickin' awesome," she remarked. "Carrie, your performance blew me away tonight." She said one word to Clarkson which was, "really?" as the American Idol alumnae laughed. Lambert then congratulated Musgraves on her win before beginning her 'thank yous'.

The 'Over You' star thanked her fans and her husband among others: "I love you," she said poignantly.
