Miranda Lambert Shares the Tender Love Song ‘Safe’
The fifth of five songs Miranda Lambert will preview this week in advance of her new album 'Four the Record' might be the first glimpse of the effect being in a happy relationship has had on her songwriting. The self-penned 'Safe' is an uncompromisingly soft love song.
Country Weekly has Friday's preview of 'Safe.' Previously, Lambert shared 'Dear Diamond,' 'Fastest Girl in Town,' 'Easy Living' and 'Over You.' Fans can listen to all five for a chance to win a flyaway to see the 'Baggage Claim' singer on tour.
"Just like the leather on my saddle / We get prettier with time / Together in the weather, shiny on the other side / Polished and changed for the better," she sings in the first verse, which is about how her love keeps her safe. In later verses, she sings about how she'll keep him safe. "Sometimes you might get thirsty, so I’ll catch the rain / Just like the ice in your glass I’ll rattle when you need a drink / You’ll never run dry of love or anything."
'Four the Record' will be available on Nov. 1. It's Lambert's fourth album, following the award-winning 'Revolution' from 2009.
