Old Dominion Releasing Self-Titled New Album in October

Old Dominion are responding to fans' anticipation for new music with the announcement of an upcoming album that's set to debut in the fall.

The five-member band shared during an appearance on Good Morning America on Monday (July 8) that their new self-titled album, Old Dominion, will drop on Oct. 25. The news preluded a performance of their current single "One Man Band," which will be featured on the new project.

The band did not provide any other details about the project, which follows their breakthrough debut, 2015's Meat and Candy, and 2017's Happy Endings. The band scored half a dozen hits between the two projects including "Break Up With Him," "No Such Thing as a Broken Heart" and their most recent, "Make It Sweet."

Old Dominion introduced "One Man Band" into their live set while on the headlining Make It Sweet Tour. They also shared another new track titled "Some People Do" in May 2019, co-written by Thomas Rhett. The group says the ballad reflects the more honest approach they're taking with the new project.

"We pushed ourselves to be more raw and vulnerable with our songwriting on this new album," they explain. "It’s a side of us we haven’t shown as blatantly on our other projects. This song is very emotional and personal, and quite honestly, it’s a little scary to put out into the world. But in the end, part of our job as songwriters is to tell the truth, even if it’s hard to go there."

Old Dominion continue on the road with a series of opening acts including Michael Ray, Morgan Evans and Jordan Davis through September.
