Savannah Chrisley Takes Us Behind the Scenes of Her Music Video Debut [Exclusive Premiere]
Chrisley Knows Best star Savannah Chrisley recently made her music video debut in Matt Stell's new clip for "Prayed for You." It's the first time her protective father, Todd Chrisley, has ever approved of the 20-year-old to shoot a video, and they take us behind the scenes of the shoot in a new clip.
Savannah stars in the "Prayed for You" video alongside her real-life boyfriend, hockey player Nic Kerdiles. The lyrics to Stell's songs are something no parent can find fault with: "'Cause every single day, before I knew your name / I couldn’t see your face, but I prayed for you / Every heartbreak trail when all hope fell / On the highway to hell, I prayed for you / I kept my faith like that old King James said I’m supposed to / It’s hard to imagine, bigger than I could fathom / I didn’t know you from Adam but I prayed for you."
Todd Chrisley admits that shooting a video was not something he envisioned his daughter doing, but "the song was a very uplifting song," he says in the video above, which is premiering exclusively with Taste of Country. "It gave me hope for these young girls out here and these young guys today."
It took what Chrisley calls "divine intervention" to get it scheduled, but Savannah was very pleased with the final result.
"That's the way that relationships should be," she observes. "My generation looks for their person in all the wrong ways. If you finally focus on the right things, then the right thing will come along. I wanted to be a part of something that I stood for and I believe."
Stell's video for "Prayed for You" debuted on July 20, and the single has since charted at No. 11 on the iTunes country singles chart. The video has garnered more than 100,000 views on the YouTube and reached more than a million across social media.
"Prayed for You" appears on Stell's debut EP, Last of the Best, which he released on March 16.
