Mr. 'Should've Been A Cowboy' Toby Keith will be singing that he should have been a dancer when he graces the 'Dancing With the Stars' telecast on April 19.

Keith first broke the news of his appearance on DWTS via Twitter on Tuesday, but the country singer stressed that he would be performing on the show -- not dancing in the competition.

If, by chance, Keith were to break out his dancing shoes, he'd be in good company. There have been more than a handful of country music stars in past seasons' competitions, including Billy Ray Cyrus, Sara Evans, and Chuck Wicks -- while Rascal Flatts, Julianne Hough and Taylor Swift have shied away from the dance floor and appeared simply to perform.

Keith's official site confirmed yesterday that not only will the 'Beer For My Horses' hitmaker appear on the ABC show on April 19, he'll perform two songs.

Before he takes the stage on Season 12 of 'Dancing With the Stars,' Keith will appear at the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, where he is also nominated for Entertainer of the Year for the third time.
