The Top 40 country songs of September 2017 include several artists with albums dropping this month. Thomas RhettDustin Lynch and Kip Moore are three, but it's a group that has the No. 1 song.

The debut single from Midland tops our list, and it also ranks high on the list of the year's top songs (see the list below). "Drinkin' Problem" is a return to traditional country music — they're dedicated to it. While more progressive songs also rank high, it's this simple drinking cut that wins out.

Find a new single from Brett Young and the fast-rising single from Lanco among hits from Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney and Maren Morris. Garth Brooks and Miranda Lambert are on the list, right next to rookies like Devin Dawson. This list of the month's top country songs makes a good listen from top to bottom.

The list of Top 40 Country Songs of September 2017 is compiled from Billboard chart data and sales figures, in addition to staff opinion and reader feedback.
