William Michael Morgan Shares How He Proposed to Runaway June’s Jennifer Wayne
William Michael Morgan has spilled all the details behind his surprise proposal to Runaway June's Jennifer Wayne. In an interview with People, Morgan reveals that he popped the question during the holiday season in late 2016 while on vacation at Wayne's mother's house in Malibu.
The couple managed to sneak away to Santa Barbara, where Morgan set the tone to ask the big question, complete with an oceanside view, classy steak dinner and plenty of wine. “God couldn’t have put it any better for me and I just asked her,” Morgan says. “Surprisingly, she said ‘Yes.'”
Country Weddings and Engagements in 2016
While Morgan had it all planned out, Wayne admits she was taken by surprise by the proposal, though the couple had discussed the idea of marriage before. Morgan selected a subtle, yet beautiful ring for his future wife, knowing that her taste is more "simple and beautiful and elegant." Though they're both thrilled for their upcoming nuptials, the country stars are in “no rush at all” to head to the altar, as they're both focused on their busy careers.
2016 was a huge year for Morgan, with his debut single, "I Met a Girl," giving him his first No. 1 country hit. The sweet track was co-written by hit makers Sam Hunt, Shane McAnally and Trevor Rosen of Old Dominion.
Wayne's trio, Runaway June, released their debut single "Lipstick" in 2016. She made her initial mark in country music co-writing Eric Paslay's hit "She Don’t Love You" and is also the granddaughter of legendary actor John Wayne.
