Tough news for anxious 'X Factor' fans: Tonight's (October 12) episode has been canceled due to heavy rains that delayed Game 4 of the American League Championship Series by two hours. The new 'X' episode has been rescheduled to take the place of Thursday's episode, which will now air next week.

While 'X Factor' pulls lots of viewers to FOX week after week, the ALCS takes precedence in October, being that it only comes once a year. The Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers watched the rain in Detroit wash their game back from a 4:19PM ET start time to a 6:30 ET, putting the game only in the fifth inning by the 8PM ET 'X Factor' time slot.

When the competition resumes tomorrow, it will bring celebrity guest judge Rihanna and a visit to the judges' homes via the contestants (and, hopefully, some more footage of country hopeful Tim Cifers). In Detroit tomorrow, where Game 5 of the ALCS championship will be played, the chance of rain is only 30 percent.
