Blake Shelton ‘Came Here to Forget’ for ‘Tonight Show’ Performance [Watch]
Blake Shelton stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday night (May 13), performing a new song and engaging in a hilarious all-star game of charades.
The country star and coach on TV's The Voice did not perform "Go Ahead and Break My Heart," his new duet with girlfriend Gwen Stefani, as some had previously speculated. Instead, he sang "Came Here to Forget," the lead single from his upcoming studio album, If I'm Honest, which is set for release on May 20.
The song is very personal to Shelton.
“I’ve had a lot of music over the years but I don’t think I’ve ever had a song before that’s such a direct look into my life,” he says. “That’s why I’m so excited about this particular song.”
Prior to his performance, the good-humored star partnered up with Fallon for a game of celebrity charades against Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington and actress Rose Byrne, which was as funny as it sounds.
Fallon was supposed to act out Cats, and in the process he made a crack about Shelton living on a ranch, to which the Oklahoma native replied, "Can you even change a flat tire? Don’t talk about real men like that.” That led to a playfully heated argument, and the stars never got around to acting out the word before their time ran out. In their next turn Shelton didn't like the card he pulled, so he jokingly put it back and pulled a different one, which turned out to be The Jungle Book. He acted that out so easily that Fallon guessed it right away, but neither Byrne nor Fallon was able to guess "Can't Feel My Face," despite Harrington and Shelton's hilarious attempts.
Shelton and Fallon always seem to have a good time during Shelton's Tonight Show appearances, and this time around Shelton was still cracking jokes with the host right up until he sang his song, and gave him a kiss on the cheek at the end.
