Brett Young took centerstage at the 2018 ACM Awards in Las Vegas Sunday night (April 15) for an abbreviated performance of his hit single, "In Case You Didn't Know."

The country love ballad, which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, was a standout single for Young in 2017-2018, along with "Like I Loved You," also a Country Airplay No. 1.

A 2017 TOC Riser, Young has become one of country music's top new crooners. Although his performance at the ACM's didn't contain a lot of flash, Young's style of country doesn't require it. His vocals were solid — almost spot on to the record — and his delicate stage presence fit with the sincerity of the music. Young also donned a new side-parted haircut that gave him a fresh look from his previous promo shots.

"In Case You Didn't Know" could be considered Young's most popular song, as it's his highest charting on the Billboard Hot 100 (peaking at No. 19) and his top-played song on Spotify with 107 million streams. The lyrics of the song hit a sweet sentiment that Young emotes perfectly.

"In case you didn't know / Baby I'm crazy 'bout you / And I would be lying if I said / That I could live this life without you / Even though I don't tell you all the time / You had my heart a long, long time ago / In case you didn't know."

Before the ACM Awards officially launched on television, Young was also awarded the New Male Vocalist of the Year award, further cementing his new place in the country music elite.

Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Devin Dawson and Russell Dickerson were also nominated for the award.
