Stir Things Up a Little With These Sexy Champagne Jello Shots
No matter how the past year has treated you, chances are you will break out the champagne on New Year’s Eve for a little toast to the year that was, and the year to come.
But maybe this is the year that you decide to stir things up a bit. Because while you could pour a glass of champagne like you have done every year since you started partaking in a little bubbly on New Year’s Eve, isn’t that getting a tad boring?
Instead, it might be time to try Champagne Jello Shots. Borrowed from our friends at Delish.com, these shots not only include a little bit of your favorite bubbly, but also some lemon juice, sugar and even some rainbow sprinkles to keep things festive.
Oh, and we forgot to mention — this recipe also includes vodka. And that makes it a winner in our book, no matter what day it is.
Champagne Jello Shots
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. champagne (divided)
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. sugar
3 envelopes gelatin
1/4 c. vodka
Rainbow sprinkles
Directions:
Combine 1 1/4 cups champagne, lemon juice and sugar in a saucepan. Sprinkle gelatin on top. Let gelatin soften for about two minutes to bloom, then heat mixture over low heat. Stir until gelatin has completely dissolved, about 2 to 3 minutes, and remove from heat. Stir in remaining 1/4 cup each of champagne and vodka.
Grease a loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray. Pour mixture into mold and chill for two hours, or until firm. Invert jello to parchment paper-lined cutting board and slice into squares. Dip each square in sprinkles and serve cold.
