Chet Hanks Didn’t Just Move to Nashville — He’s Going All In on Country Music
Chet Hanks is fully embracing life in Nashville — and he’s doing it in a way few people probably expected.
The actor and musician recently revealed that he moved into a trailer park in Music City as he works toward building a career in country music.
And according to Hanks, the lifestyle change has been a surprisingly perfect fit.
Why He Moved to Nashville
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 35-year-old son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson confirmed he recently relocated to Tennessee.

Hanks said he didn’t want to go through the process of furnishing another apartment after recently buying a condo in Los Angeles, so he started looking for a simpler setup.
That’s when a stay in an Airstream trailer during a trip to Carmel-by-the-Sea inspired him to make a major change.
“I was like, ‘Man, I want one of these,’” he said.
Living the Trailer Park Life
Hanks ended up buying a Jayco Eagle trailer and says he’s “really happy” with the setup.
According to him, it has everything he needs — including one important feature.
“I got, you know, a walk-in shower. That’s a big deal with trailers,” he joked, explaining that some combine the shower and toilet into what’s known as a “wet bath.”
While he admitted he’s probably decades younger than most of his neighbors, Hanks said the experience has been far different from the stereotypes people might expect.

“You think, ‘Oh, you’re gonna live in a trailer park. It might be a little sketchy,’” he said. “It’s all just retirees… great people.”
Chasing Country Music
The move comes as Hanks focuses more heavily on his country music career with his band, Something Out West.
He also recently performed at Stagecoach for just the second time — a major milestone that included support from his father, Tom Hanks, who was in attendance.
“It was a big deal,” Hanks said of the performance.
