Florida Georgia Line Add Trio of Newcomers to 2017 Smooth Tour
Florida Georgia Line's 2017 Smooth Tour hasn't even launched yet and it's already one of the hottest shows on the road this year. It was announced Tuesday (May 9) that three of country's most promising new acts are set to join the tour.
Hot Nashville songwriter Ryan Hurd, "Yours" singer Russell Dickerson and Morgan Wallen will hit the road with FGL's Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley this summer, opening the show along with previously-announced Chris Lane. Nelly and the Backstreet Boys will also be on select dates.
Hurd and Dickerson are no strangers to working with country superstars, as the two are also on tour with Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini on Rhett's 2017 Home Team Tour.
FGL continue to be one of the most sought-after acts in country music. The duo's song "May We All" featuring Tim McGraw, as well as singles "Confession" and "H.O.L.Y," have all achieved platinum certification from the RIAA, while their current single "God, Your Mama and Me" is sitting comfortably at gold status. The superstar duo are also up for three 2017 Billboard Music Awards in the categories of Top Duo/Group, Top Country Artist and Top Country Album for Dig Your Roots. They'll perform at the awards ceremony, representing country music among pop acts Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Celine Dion and more.
The Smooth Tour kicks off June 2 in Austin, Texas, and keeps FGL schedule packed well into the fall, when the trek wraps up on Oct. 21 in Georgia.
