Sure, music may be Rascal Flatts frontman Gary LeVox's career, but his passion is hunting. In a new interview with the Hunt Life Outdoor Show, the lead singer spilled that his hobby is such a huge part of his life that he convinced his bandmates Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus to schedule tours around hunting season.

"The outdoors and the hunting, that's just who I am as a person," LeVox admits. The Talk Zone host commended the Flatts hitmaker, as well as country couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, for wearing their hunting culture on their sleeves, adding that many stars today are too PC to do the same. To that, LeVox says, "How do you change your foundation? That is exactly who I am, and Blake and Miranda, it's who we are and what we do. Not everybody likes to go play golf. I'd rather shoot a bird than try to make a bird in a hole."

He also revealed that DeMarcus and Rooney are avid golfers, so sometimes he lets them plan around hitting the green -- so long as Rascal Flatts don't tour during peak hunting season. The host pointed out that, surely, it must just be a coincidence that the current Flatts Fest tour wraps up on Sept. 18, rght before the season gets going.

"That pretty much gives away who does the schedule!" LeVox says with a laugh. "We usually try to finish up right at the beginning of bow season or a week or two into October. We've been blessed enough to be able to adjust our schedule. My partners Jay and Joe Don, they've always been really cool about it. I tell them, you know, the end of the season starts in January, so any time after that I will give all that I can give up until that point, but I've got to have October/November off."
