While many of his peers will be at the ACM Awards in Las Vegas, Kenny Chesney will give fans in Houston a slice of country music pie with a free show at the NCAA Final Four Capital One JamFest on April 3.

Chesney will perform in Houston's downtown paradise, Discovery Green, as the headlining act on Sunday, to close out a full weekend of free music and entertainment in conjunction with the Big Dance Concert Series. Tennessee rockers Kings of Leon will get the crowds moving on Saturday night, and more acts are set to be announced.

This free concert sits in the midst of Chesney's Goin' Coastal Tour, which kicks off March 17 in West Palm Beach, Fla. The 'Live a Little' singer says he's beyond ready for the bus wheels to hit the pavement.

"I've mentally had time off from the things that I needed mentally time away from, and I'm ready to go back out," Chesney tells The Boot of his 17-month rest period. "I've missed the energy. I've missed the excitement. I've missed the anticipation of the first note every night ... It's an exciting time for all of us to go out there, and the love affair that I feel like we experience with the fans is second to none."
