Kid Rock Visits the White House With Sarah Palin, Ted Nugent
Kid Rock might not be the first guy you'd think of if you were making a guest list for an evening at the White House, but you'd be wrong. The rough-around-the-edges country rocker was on hand with some other famously conservative luminaries on Wednesday night (April 19) for a visit with President Trump.
Kid Rock dressed up for the occasion, wearing dark slacks, a wide-collared shirt and a pullover sweater for his state visit, during which he was accompanied by former Alaska governor and conservative pundit Sarah Palin and classic rocker Ted Nugent. Kid Rock's fiancee, Audrey Berry, was also on hand, along with Nugent's wife Shemane, as they visited Trump in the Oval Office, where he posed for a photo appearing to show some documents to Nugent, Kid Rock and Palin as they looked on. Palin shared the photo above to Facebook on Thursday (April 20).
She shared a photo Wednesday night of herself, Kid Rock and Nugent posed comically in front of a portrait of Hillary Clinton, with Palin and Nugent making goofy faces, and Christina Wilkie, who covers Trump for the Huffington Post, posted a picture of the whole group at Trump's desk.
In a blog post to DeerAndDeerHunting.com, Nugent says they discussed a number of issues, including "how entrenched status quo political correctness has wrecked everything it has touched and how his administration is focused and dedicated to get back to the US Constitutional basics of government of, by and for the people."
"We discussed specifically the counterproductive follies of the Endangered Species Act and the Environmental Protection Agency, as well as the US Fish & Wildlife Service, BLM and other out of control bureaucracies," he writes, adding, "for the first time in many years I have a renewed level of positive excitement about the improved direction our country is now headed."
Kid Rock made no secret of his support for Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign, and even released a line of merchandise celebrating his victory in late 2016.
