The Billboard Music Awards will return after a 3+ year hiatus on Sunday, May 22, and they will be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, which was the star-drenched site of this year’s unforgettable ACM Awards. The producers of the show are bringing it back in the grandest of fashions, confirming some of the most recognizable names in both pop and country music to perform, including two of country’s biggest and brightest: Lady Antebellum and Keith Urban.

Other big names that have been confirmed to perform include Rihanna, who sashayed across the ACMs stage with Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles earlier this month, and Jennifer Lopez.

The Billboard Music Awards, which will be broadcast live on ABC next month, are different than the Grammys in that the awards are based strictly on sales statistics. Both Lady A's 'Need You Now' and Urban's 'Get Closer' were high impact albums in the country genre last year, in terms of critical reception and commercial success. We can't wait to see them get onstage and perform at the BMAs.

In addition to booking these performances, Lady Antebellum and Keith Urban have something else in common. As part of the EMI family, the generous stars have donated items to the music company's auction for relief in Japan after the devastating earthquake that crippled the country last month.
