Though Michael Ray and Carly Pearce are getting ready to walk down the aisle together, they're reflecting on their time as a new couple in their upcoming duet.

Speaking to Taste of Country at 2019 Taste of Country Festival, Ray shared some of the details of the collaboration. He's not disclosing the title yet, but revealed that it's set to be featured on Pearce's album, which will be released later this year—and that the song serves as a vehicle to reflect back on the beginning moments of a new relationship.

"It's a really cool song that paints a perfect picture of where you're at when you first start dating, and that scene; and that's kind of what we wanted to step out with our first duet," the "Kiss You in the Morning" singer describes. "We recorded it when we were dating and kind of in that beginning stages of things, so it's one of those songs. We're excited for everybody to hear it."

The rising country stars officially announced they were dating in July 2018 and got engaged during a trip to Mexico in December. While Ray is involved in the process, he's pretty much allowed Pearce and her mother Jackie to take over the reins when it comes to planning the wedding.

"[Carly] and her mom have had it completely down. They don't need any help from me, they're just like 'hey this is what we're doing,'" Ray explains. "They work so well together and it's been really cool for me to watch them create our wedding and for them to be able to do it together."

While a wedding date hasn't been made public, the couple has asked fellow country star Jake Owen to perform his song "Made For You" on their special day.
