Miranda Lambert didn't seem to bat an eye before swatting down an internet troll who called her marriage into question over the weekend. The country superstar was a model of self-control as she casually put the rude Instagram user in their place.

Lambert shared a couple of posts on Instagram on Sunday (Aug. 4), first posting a video of her husband, NYPD officer Brendan McLoughlin, frying chicken in a cast-iron skillet in their outdoor kitchen, and adding a snippet of lyrics from her new song, "Locomotive": “I’m sweet tea sippin’ on the front porch sittin’ while my hubby fries chicken and I’m pickin’ these straaangs."

She followed that with a clip in which she is holding up a piece of the chicken and looking mighty proud, writing, "Buttermilk fried chicken y'all! Damn right!"

While many fans responded with positive words about how happy Lambert seems in her new marriage, one rude person commented: "It won't last."

Instead of striking back with an angry reply, Lambert brushed the rude post off by playing along as if the IG troll was talking about the chicken itself, replying, "Sure won't! I'm gonna eat every piece of it! Can't waste chicken!"

She replied to several comments in the thread, including one from Nashville producer and songwriter Shane McAnally:

Lambert stunned fans when she announced in February that she had secretly married McLoughlin in January of 2019. The couple split their time between a gorgeous rural estate outside of Nashville and another residence in New York City, where he works.

Lambert recently released a new single, "It All Comes Out in the Wash," and she has finished her upcoming album and turned it in to her label, hoping for a fall release. She's set to launch her 2019 Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour on Sept. 1, and it's not clear whether McLoughlin might be joining her on the road, as he recently took a leave of absence from the NYPD.
