Old Dominion are going into the 2019 ACM Awards as winners already! The group were announced as the winners in the Group of the Year category during the pre-ACMs red carpet backstage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas prior to the broadcast on Sunday night (April 7).

Old Dominion beat out Lady Antebellum, Lanco, Little Big Town and Midland for the honor after a year that includes a No. 1 hit in "Hotel Key," as well as a new hit, "Make It Sweet," that is the first taste fans have had of an upcoming new album.

Songwriter and producer Shane McAnally presented the group with the award on the red carpet, just hours after he himself won Songwriter of the Year in the 2019 ACM Awards.

Old Dominion are slated to take the stage to perform "Make It Sweet" on the 2019 ACM Awards broadcast on Sunday evening, joining a performance roster that includes George Strait, Brothers Osborne, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Chris Stapleton, Reba McEntire and more. There will also be a number of special all-star collaborations during the broadcast, which McEntire is returning to host in 2019.
