Rascal Flatts bassist and background vocalist Jay DeMarcus has earned himself a Dove Award nomination from the Gospel Music Association for his production work on Austin Bridge's latest album, 'Times Like These.'

The Daywind Records project is nominated for Country Album of the Year. The category also includes Crawford Crossing's 'Turn Up the Music,' Jeff and Sheri Easter's 'Expecting Good Things,' Guy Penrod's 'Breathe Deep,' Point of Grace's 'No Changin' Us' and Ricky Skaggs' 'Mosaic.' The awards will be given out on April 20 from the historic Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Ga.

The nomination for DeMarcus comes at a great time for him and Rascal Flatts. DeMarcus and fellow Flatts members Gary LeVox and Joe Don Rooney will be honored March 28 with the Tony Martell Lifetime Entertainment Achievement Award at the T.J. Martell Foundation's Honors Gala in Nashville. The event brings together business, medical, sports and entertainment industry leaders and celebrities to raise awareness and funds for innovative cancer research.

Rascal Flatts have released their second single, 'I Won't Let Go,' off their 'Nothing Like This' album, the follow-up to recent No. 1 hit 'Why Wait' -- as well as a tune with Justin Bieber called 'That Should Be Me.'

Look for Rascal Flatts in the upcoming CMT special 'Ron White's Comedy Salute to the Troops,' where the trio perform both tunes. The special is scheduled to air on CMT next month and also features music from Hall and Oates' John Oates.
