The Guy Who Inspired Stella Lefty’s ‘Boston’ Is Actually From Atlanta [Exclusive]

Stella Lefty's song "Boston" is shooting up the charts, holding steady at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 all-genre chart as of right now.

With its catchy lyrics and melody, it has listeners dreaming of taking a train to Boston with a person who they are into, who is always nice to them.

Although Lefty is a co-writer on the song and it is about her boyfriend, fellow country artist Vincent Mason, there are some things in the song that bend the truth just a bit.

Who Is Stella Lefty's "Boston" About?

Lefty was appearing on Taste of Country Nights when I asked her who the song is about.

Once she confirmed it was about Mason, I had more questions, as Mason is from a suburb of Atlanta.

"No, he's not from Boston," Lefty said.

"This is the thing. Boston ... I was sitting at a Boston piano when I wrote this song, but I didn't know that the piano said Boston until like a month later, so it was like a weird thing, like, 'I don't know where this song came from.'"

She continued, "I was going to Boston like two weeks after that, because I was touring with Cam Whitcomb and one of the first stops was in Boston, and so I think it was just top-of-mind for me... but he's not from Boston, but it's about him. Not from Boston, but about him," she proclaimed with a smile.
