The Band Perry are undeniably one of the hardest working groups in country music. Even though they're busy making rounds on the road, including a recent stop in Texas for the iHeartRadio Music Festival, the sibling trio share that they're focused on getting new music to their fans.

Kimberly, Reid and Neil spoke with Taste of Country Nights host Sam Alex recently about what they've been doing when they haven't been on tour — a new single. And it's close to done!

“It’s close, close, close,” Kimberly shares. “Depending on which one you ask I say 75 percent there on the song. He says we’re 90 percent there [referencing her brother] … so 80 something? 80 percent. We’re close.”

The group will mix things up on the next album, and in order to give it their all, they did take some time off to record.

“We've been working feverishly and nonstop, you know," the frontwoman explains. "We really have never taken time off the road to make an album. We usually have been touring and kind of making it in between dates, but this time we really took a lot of time off to be in the studio and we can’t wait for you guys to hear it."

The Band Perry will head to the mountains in June to headline the 2015 Country Jam Colorado Festival, which also includes Billy CurringtonKacey MusgravesEli Young Band and Thompson Square as part of the June 18-21 lineup.

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
