Carrie Underwood showed up to AARP's Drive to End Hunger Benefit Concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Saturday smiling and sporting her stylish new 'do. While her hair was flawless, as was her makeup, we were less than impressed by her choice of dress.

The 'Before He Cheats' hitmaker donned a shimmery beaded Zuhair Murad mini dress which wasn't exactly flattering to her figure, though she can rock a more subdued short dress any day.

Let us say that we usually love Underwood's style, and we believe she sets a high mark for other female country stars -- and we haven't forgotten that she was voted most fashionable country star by Taste of Country readers in the past! Still, the overly-beaded mini with shoulder pads looks more like a football uniform or a suit of armor than a fashion statement.

Every artist makes a style faux pas every now and then, so we can forgive the blond bombshell just this once.

At least Underwood came out to support a good cause. She appeared alongside Tony Bennett, with whom she sings on his 'Duets' album, as well as the legendary Stevie Wonder, just one day after performing a rockin' set at the first-annual iHeartRadio Music Festival.
