Old Dominion Snag Vocal Group of the Year at CMA Awards
Old Dominion arrived at the 52nd annual CMA Awards nominated for Vocal Group of the Year against groups like Lady Antebellum, Midland, Little Big Town and Lanco and left winners.
The group looked downright elated to take home their first win in the category and made sure to share some goodwill with LBT before going up on stage to accept their trophy.
"This is beautiful," said Old Dominion's Matthew Ramsey. "There is so much that it takes to get here. We will try to live up to this honor."
What made the moment even more precious is that Ramsey mentioned in his acceptance speech that all of their parents were in the CMA Awards audience to see the magical moment.
The big win will propel the country group going into 2019, as they already had claimed the title of the Academy of Country Music's Vocal Group of the Year award. Old Dominion are set to head out on the road for the first leg of their 2019 Make It Sweet arena tour on Jan. 18 in Chicago alongside openers such as Jordan Davis, Morgan Evans and Mitchell Tenpenny at select dates. The initial leg will eventually wrap on April 27 at San Jose Events Center in San Jose, Calif.
The group are also riding high on the success of their new single "Make It Sweet," which they performed on The Ellen Degeneres Show earlier this year. Yep, things couldn't get much sweeter for these guys right now.
