Rascal Flatts Promise ‘Really Unique’ Las Vegas Residency With ‘Rhythm & Roots’

Rascal Flatts head to Las Vegas later this month for their second residency. Titled Rascal Flatts Rhythm & Roots, the trio promise some unexpected moments throughout their show. During a media brunch on Friday (Jan. 29) at Nashville's the Sutler, Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney filled the press in on what to expect from their nine-date residency at the Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

While the band said they are working on new music, they won't be trying out any of the songs during their Vegas run. Instead, they'll be putting as many of their hits and influences as they can into their set each night. They say they'll be producing a new show that fans have never seen and can only witness by taking the trip to Sin City.

"Last year was the first time we ever had backup singers so we changed the show up that way so every song is a little different," LeVox tells Taste of Country. "This year, the show that we're putting together, no one has ever seen us in this way."

Cousin DeMarcus was quick to jump in, adding that the band will be doing all Brad Paisley songs. "Really unique for us but we're excited," he says, laughing before LeVox got in on the joke.

"He's so much older than us, that's where the Roots part comes in," LeVox quips. "Again, we've done some things with the band that no one's ever seen us do before. No one's ever seen Rascal Flatts the way they'll see us if they come to Vegas that's for sure."

Last year's residency brought guest appearances from Vince Gill and Steven Tyler, which the trio says is one of their most memorable experiences during their time in Vegas.

"There are a lot of good memories from last year," DeMarcus tells Taste of Country. "It's just nine shows in a three week period so it goes by pretty fast."
