No Brad? No problem. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley enjoyed 11 amazing years together as CMA Awards hosts and will go down as an iconic hosting duo.

Underwood will have a pair of guest hosts to help her with the 2019 CMA Awards, but promotional messaging makes it clear she'll be at the forefront of a celebration of women in country music. That's something she's prepared for and something she could not have done a decade ago.

We watched every CMA Awards monologue we could find, from Brad Paisley and Underwood's first in 2008 through last year's opener, when she again revealed the sex of her unborn baby. In early years both stars were a little awkward and a LOT nervous, and Paisley carried the jokes.

Slowly the "Southbound" singer found her comedic voice, often leading jokes, songs and gags involving audience members or other celebrities. She's a pro! There's no denying Paisley will be missed in 2019, but Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton are set to join Underwood as the show celebrates the great women of country music.

It's not clear if Paisley's absence is a one-time thing or if the show is permanently changing directions. For his part, he says he's looking forward to watching from afar.

The 36-year-old Underwood will host the CMA Awards for the 12th straight year on Nov. 13. The ABC broadcast begins at 8PM ET and will feature three hours worth of performances and awards presentations.
