It was a slow climb to the top for this month's No. 1 song and artist, but hard work and great music always triumph. The best country songs list represents a mix of new and old country stars. Traditional music, pop-country and country-rock are all well-represented on the July 2018 Top 40 Country Songs list.

Florida Georgia Line make a big splash with "Simple," but they're not the duo that ended up at No. 1. Their ascent to the top spot seems inevitable, but for now, Dan + Shay head up the country songs list with "Tequila," the lead single from their self-titled album. FGL aren't far behind, and after them you'll see Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Brett Young, Morgan Wallen and Sam Hunt.

New songs from Garth Brooks and Darius Rucker make strong Top 40 debuts, as does Little Big Town's "Summer Fever." Scroll through, find your favorite song, click to listen again and then let us know where we got it right and where we got it wrong.
